As part of the extended World Pharmacists Day Celebration 2024, Sree Gokulam SNGM College of Pharmacy, in association with the Kerala Pharmacy Graduates Association (KPGA), hosted a meaningful awareness session on antibiotic misuse on the afternoon of September 25, 2024.
The keynote session was led by Mr. Sanal C, a renowned social activist from Alappuzha, who addressed students and faculty on the growing threat of antibiotic resistance and the critical role pharmacists must play in combating it.
Mr. Sanal emphasized responsible prescription practices, the dangers of self-medication, and the importance of educating the public on rational drug use. His engaging talk stirred thoughtful dialogue among budding pharmacists about their responsibilities in safeguarding public health.
This session was a continuation of the institution’s multi-day program to celebrate and reflect on the pharmacist's role in society — not just as dispensers of medicine, but as key advocates for responsible healthcare.
