About the IPR Cell
The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell
at Sree Gokulam SNGM College of Pharmacy is a dedicated body established to
promote awareness, training, and facilitation in the field of patents,
copyrights, trademarks, and other forms of intellectual property,
particularly in the pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences.
The Cell functions in alignment with the National
IPR Policy (2016) and works closely with the Institution
Innovation Council (IIC) and IEDC
to ensure that innovations by students and faculty are properly protected,
nurtured, and commercialized.
Vision
To foster a culture of creativity, legal
awareness, and innovation by enabling the ethical protection and management of
intellectual assets in the pharmacy domain.
Mission

To sensitize and educate students and faculty
on the importance of IPR in research and innovation.

To assist innovators in filing
patents and copyrights for their inventions or creative works.
·
To establish collaboration with legal
experts, patent attorneys, and innovation incubators.
·
To encourage a conducive environment for IP
creation, protection, and commercialization.
Objectives

Conduct IPR awareness
programs, workshops, and certificate courses.
·
Guide innovators in identifying patentable
ideas and performing prior art searches.
·
Support the drafting and filing of provisional
and complete patent applications.
·
Build a repository of institute-originated
intellectual property.
·
Promote ethical IP practices,
technology transfer, and licensing initiatives.
Scope of IPR Cell

Patents:
Inventions in drug formulations, delivery systems, novel excipients, devices,
or dosage forms.

Trademarks: Brand
identity creation for pharmacy-based products or student startups.
·
Copyrights:
Original educational content, software, manuals, and learning resources.
·
Designs:
Aesthetic aspects of medical devices or packaging.

on Patent Filing and use of Indian Patent Office (IPO)
portal.

Drafting Clinics in collaboration with patent attorneys and
