Sree Gokulam SNGM College of Pharmacy enthusiastically observed World Environment Day by organizing a Medicinal Plant Plantation Drive in the college herbal garden, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Kala D., who emphasized the importance of tree planting, environmental stewardship, and the collective responsibility of preserving nature for future generations. She encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices and recognize the vital role of medicinal plants in healthcare and sustainable living.
The event was graced by Vice Principal Dr. Shanthi S. Nair, Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy Dr. Akhila S., and Course Coordinator Mrs. Anila Varghese, who actively participated alongside students in planting a variety of medicinally important plant species within the campus.
The plantation drive served as an educational initiative to create awareness about the conservation of medicinal plants, highlighting their significance in traditional and modern medicine while fostering environmental responsibility among future healthcare professionals.
